The Children’s Scholarship Fund (CSF) exists to open doors—and in 2025-26, those doors swung wide for 1,383 students across 75 different schools in the Omaha metro and northeast Nebraska. Through $2.2 million in scholarships, students had access to quality education rooted in strong academics and values. Since its founding in 1999, CSF Omaha has awarded over 42,000 scholarships totaling more than $47 million. The impact is clear: for the class of 2024, CSF recipients graduated at a rate of 96%, with 83% going on to further their education.
One of those students is Antonio Martinez, CSF’s 2024 Inspiring Alumnus of the Year. Antonio attended Holy Name School from kindergarten through eighth grade, supported by scholarships that allowed him and his siblings to remain in a school community they loved. Holy Name’s rich history and diverse student body shaped Antonio into a leader who values people for who they are and the unique gifts they possess. That foundation carried him to Creighton Prep, then Regis University in Denver, CO.
Antonio’s journey is one of resilience. In 2015, as an eighth grader, he received CSF’s Rising Star Award. He wore a navy tie with pink ribbons that day in honor of his Aunt Jodi—his godmother—who had passed away from breast cancer the year before. Her faith and perseverance inspired Antonio through life’s challenges, including his own diagnosis with Tourette’s Syndrome in high school. But her influence was most profound when Antonio faced his biggest trial yet: a battle with cancer.
“I would not be here today had it not been for the inspiration my Aunt Jodi gave me,” Antonio shared at the CHANCE Luncheon. “Her role modeling set an example for me to fight my battle against cancer with faith, positivity, hope, and the attitude that I would not let the cancer take away my lively spirit or keep me from enjoying life while I have it.” Today, Antonio is almost two years in remission.
This is the power of education—and the power of investing in students. At Catholic Future Foundation (CFF), we partner with organizations like the Children’s Scholarship Fund to ensure that stories like Antonio’s continue for generations to come. By professionally managing charitable funds and stewarding them with Catholic values, CFF makes it possible for donors to create a lasting impact—supporting scholarships, strengthening schools, and shaping lives.
When you give to CFF, you’re not just supporting a program. You’re investing in potential, building opportunities, and planting seeds that will grow for decades. As Antonio’s story shows, those investments can shape leaders, strengthen communities, and inspire us all.
